If you put one leg of a wishbone in Emmett Idaho and the other leg of that bone in Horseshoe Bend, the breaking point would be Sweet Idaho.
In Sweet there is a building known as the Syringa Hall. Every January for the past seventeen years a fundraiser has been held by the Ladies of the Syringa Hall for maintenance of the hall and the Sweet Fire Department. The draw to the fundraiser is the food.
Picture an Italian dinner with spaghetti, lasagna and a host of desserts for a mere $15. I must not forget the bread sticks and salad. All homecooked. That is just to get you in the door.
At the point when those in attendance are raiding the dessert table, a tall gentleman in a cowboy hat stands up to raffle off several donated items. Between jokes and anecdotes, he progresses to auctioning off other larger ticket items.
I attended their last Italian dinner on January 25th. Smiles and laughter fill the room, while those in attendance raise money for the community.
Everyone there had an enjoyable time; myself included. Next year you will find me near the front of the line for the Syringa Hall Italian Dinner. Not only for the enjoyable evening, but to help support the Sweet community.
