In the last two months of each year and throughout the Treasure Valley you will find several charities working to supply the needs of the less fortunate. This year I want to highlight the 2024 Christmas Toy Drive as a success.
The 44 Club on State Street and O’ Michaels on Bogus Basin Rd held an open mic night featuring some of the top folk and country artists in the area. A big thank you to Michael King and Barbara Bennett for arranging and introducing such performers as: Uncle Chris, Scott McDonald, Johnny Shoes, Jennifer Pisano, Rancho Notorious, Tracy Morrison, Down to the Wire Choir, Buddy Devore and the Faded Cowboys.
The money raised was turned into gift cards for older children along with the toys raised were passed on to Fire Station #9 for distribution.
This was the 17th year of this toy drive. I look forward to seeing many more successful ones.
