Every myth has some basis, in fact. Over the centuries, ghosts have been an integral part of most all cultures. The mere idea of life after death sparks the speculation if there is something more than having a physical body with the ability to reason.
Along the right side of State Street, heading westward out of Boise, is a simple old building. It sits back from the thoroughfare, where sitting above it is a fading sign reading; ‘44 Club’. Known for catering to locals and welcoming the occasional thirsty traveler.
As the end of October draws near, talk of the supernatural and the paranormal becomes more and more the topic of those in attendance.
Over the past year, several regulars have shed their mortal bodies. One such person, a ghost hunter by hobby, has been the topic of conversation this year. What spiked the conversations have been the unusual activity on the security cameras well after closing time.
Analysis of the security videos has been the subject of bartenders and patrons alike. The idea of light from outside coming through an open shaded window then reflecting off of a mirror on the back wall has been discounted.
What cannot be explained is the motion detectors alerting the manager of an intruder during those wee morning hours. It was confirmed that reflected light would not trip the motion detectors.
After each video gets viewed, the bar’s history gets reviewed, and testimonies are heard. Most of the time, the general conclusion of those in attendance is that the 44 Club has one or more ghosts in residence.
It doesn’t matter if you believe in ghosts or not; you are welcome to stop by the 44 Club and join in the discussion about ghosts.
