Days of Enterprise

I’ve been a Trekkie since 1966. Admittedly, when The Next Generation hit the airwaves, I rejected it. It took the first few episodes to win me over. I came to accept other characters in the Star Trek universe other than Kirk and Spock. Today, I can happily admit I have watched all the Star Trek based movies and television shows many times over. However, the latest episode of Strange New Worlds has made me ready to look elsewhere for my deep-space entertainment.

Granted, SNW has pushed the envelope with the Great American Songbook in last season. Then this season, when they had Spock’s dream sequence in the previous week, was a funny break from the normal dramatic tension of the show. This week’s season 4 episode 7 titled Like Cronitions Through The Hourglass had me ready to turn it off and take a long walk to clear my mind. Out of respect for my long history with the show, I suffered through it.

The daytime soap opera dramatics, the Q like influencer from TNG, and fractured storylines of the characters made it hard-to-follow. I regrettably have to say this is the worst episode I have ever suffered through.

I’m not going to waste your time by spoiling the story. The only positive thing I can offer is that the actors did have to push their acting abilities.
